2018 Summer Photo Contest Winners

Posted on: September 14, 2018

Dip into some of the best photographic displays of summer as we reveal our award-winning submissions from the season! While it was challenging to pick from all of the fantastic shots this summer, we are grateful for everyone’s contributions.

We hope the camera lens stayed dry while taking the 1st place winning shot of a swimmer across the ripples of Sunset Pool. Our 1st place Summer Photo Contest winner is Melissa Drechsel with her photo, “Poolside Beauty.”

Our 2nd place winner takes a splash in the deep-end at Sunset Pool. This photo is unique from its creative use of lighting that stamps the splasher’s shadow on the diving board. Thank you to photographer Natalie Jaeger for her submission, “Fun Times at Sunset.”

There was an evident need for speed throughout the Park District all summer long, from the Freedom Four™ 4-Mile Run, to the 2K for Kids Fun Run, to Youth Run for Fun classes at Ackerman SFC, and more. Our 3rd place winner, Jerry English, captured the curve at Lake Ellyn Park which played host the Intelligentsia Cup in late July. His photo is titled “Speed and Stillness.”
