New Programs and Events to Try This Winter

Resident registration for programs contained in the 2019 Winter Activity Guide is in progress! The Guide details hundreds of classes, events, fitness memberships, and platform tennis opportunities available throughout the winter. Nonresident registration will begin on Monday, December 3 at 8:30am.

The 2019 Winter Activity Guide also features important registration deadlines for youth athletic programs, such as: Cyclones Volleyball, Bulldogs Boys Lacrosse, Youth Baseball, Girls Softball, Spring House Soccer, Youth Rugby, Golden Eagles Cheerleading, and Golden Eagles Football.

This winter there are many new programs and events available including:

  • Winter Gym Jam: Help us kick-off the Park District’s 100 Year Anniversary Celebration with an afternoon filled with giant games, inflatable attractions, music, and more on Sunday, January 6 at Ackerman SFC.
  • Lunar Eclipse & Night Hike: View the celestial event of the year – a total Lunar Eclipse – at the Lake Ellyn Boathouse on Sunday, January 20. Includes free hot chocolate and a chance to win a $100 Park District gift certificate.
  • Adults Only Egg Hunt: Egg hunts aren’t just for kids! Compete against other adults to find the best prizes, including gift cards, candy, and more on April 13. Must be over the age of 21.
  • Adult Platform Tennis Mixer: Enjoy dinner, drinks, and matches at the Platform Tennis courts on Friday, January 18. Pros will give a quick lesson to any beginners.
  • Adult Nature XC Ski: Grab your skis and join us for free guided glides led by the Park District’s Naturalist on January 19 or February 23.
  • Day Trips: There are 8 trips planned this winter. See pages 66-67 of the Activity Guide.
