The month of August is packed with events that you and your family can enjoy without spending a dime.

Free Photo Contest

Submit your best shots of you and/or your family enjoying Glen Ellyn Park District facilities, parks, programs and events! Winning entries (1st place-3rd place) in each category will receive a prize. Photographers of all ages and skill levels are invited to enter – whether taking a photo with your iPhone or a DSLR camera. Learn more.


August 7
Community Game Night

Celebrate the end of summer and the Glen Ellyn Public Library’s ‘Game On: Summer Challenge’ with giant games like Connect 4, Jenga, checkers, and more at Sunset Park. This event, which runs from 6:30pm-8pm, is free to attend and open to all ages.


August 9
Back to School Bash

Kids in grades 6-8 are invited to join us for a FREE pool party complete with a DJ and games at Sunset Pool in Glen Ellyn! Grab your swimsuit, money for food, and join your friends! The concession stand will be open until 9pm. There is no cost to attend, however, students must show a school ID. Incoming 6th Graders and students whose school does not provide an ID must have a parent check them in. No pre-registration required.


August 14
Movie in the Park – Alice in Wonderland

Enjoy a free showing of Alice in Wonderland at Maryknoll Park. Take part in a special pre-movie activity beginning at 8:15pm and dress up like your favorite character from the film for a costume contest. The movie will begin between 8:30pm-9pm.


August 21
Jazz in the Park

Listen to your favorite Big Band tunes during a free live concert by the Glen Ellyn Jazz Ensemble at Lake Ellyn Park. Be sure to pack a blanket, lawn chairs and picnic dinner. The concert will run from 7pm-9pm.
