Lake Ellyn Cardboard Regatta June 30 @ 10:00 am

Participants will race their handmade cardboard boats on beautiful Lake Ellyn. Winners are determined by the fastest race times! Awards will also be presented for most creative, team spirit, and best sink! Whether you are building a boat or just out to watch the fun, this family-friendly community event is always a popular Glen Ellyn tradition. Concessions, provided by the Glen Ellyn Fourth of July Committee, will be available for purchase beginning at 11am. Live minnow races will also be available for $1, with proceeds benefitting the Glen Ellyn Park District scholarship fund.  All ages are welcome to attend!

Event Date: June 30, 2018
9am-10am: Boat Check-in & Inspections
10am: Event Opens
11am: Concessions Opens (Provided by Glen Ellyn Fourth of July Committee)
12pm: Races Begin


Gather a crew and take on the challenge! All entries receive 20 sheets of corrugated cardboard to get started building their boats! The Park District will provide paddles. Kayak paddles will not be allowed. Pre-registration is required.

Registration Deadline: Friday, June 29 at 12pm
Fee: $50 per Boat

Youth: Team of 8 youths or less (ages 9-17)
Family: Team of 8 participants or less. Each boat must have a balanced mixture of youths (age 9-17) and adults (age 18+).
Adult: Team of 8 adults or less (ages 18 and over).
