Lake Ellyn Cardboard Regatta

Will your boat float on June 29th?

Participants will race their handmade cardboard boats on beautiful Lake Ellyn. Winners are determined by the fastest race times! Awards will also be presented for most creative, team spirit, and best sink! Whether you are building a boat or just out to watch the fun, this family-friendly community event is always a popular Glen Ellyn tradition. Concessions, provided by the Glen Ellyn Fourth of July Committee, will be available for purchase beginning at 11am. Live minnow races will also be available for $1, with proceeds benefiting the Glen Ellyn Park District scholarship fund.

Free Cardboard Boat Building Seminars

Get tips from previous Regatta champions at our free Cardboard Boat Building Seminars on April 20th or May 18th. Seminars take place from 9am-10am at Main Street Recreation Center. Registration required by calling (630) 858-2463.

Build A Boat This Year!

Gather a crew and take on the challenge! All entries receive 20 sheets of corrugated cardboard to get started building their boats! The Park District will provide paddles. Kayak paddles will not be allowed. Pre-registration is required. Registration deadline: Friday, June 28 at 12pm
