Lake Ellyn Cardboard Regatta

Saturday, June 27, 2020
Event opens at 10am • Races begin at 12pm

Held at Lake Ellyn Park (645 Lenox Road, Glen Ellyn) • Free to spectate

Join us for a challenging, fun and wet adventure that combines cardboard, tape, creativity, and engineering. Build a cardboard boat and race it against other boats! In addition to the races themselves, boats will be eligible to win in other non-racing categories, including creativity, team spirit, and most spectacular sinking. This event is free to watch and open to the public.

ENTER A BOAT: In order to enter, you’ll need to register and build your amazing boat in advance to bring to the race on June 27 (all participants must be at least 9 years of age). Check back in March for registration information and boat building rules. The Lake Ellyn Cardboard Regatta is a favorite part of summer because whether you sink or make it to the finish line, you’re going to have a blast.

PARKING: Residents are encouraged to walk, bike or carpool. If driving, please be sure to follow posted street parking signage. Additional parking may be available in the Glenbard West parking lot across from Duchon Field or in the Metra commuter lots in downtown Glen Ellyn. For additional parking options in downtown Glen Ellyn, please view the Village’s interactive parking map by clicking here.
