Lake Ellyn Cardboard Regatta
Participants will race their handmade cardboard boats on beautiful Lake Ellyn. Winners are determined by the fastest race times! Awards will also be presented for most creative, team spirit, and best sink! Whether you are building a boat or just out to watch the fun, this family-friendly community event is always a popular Glen Ellyn tradition. Concessions, provided by the Glen Ellyn Fourth of July Committee, will be available for purchase beginning at 11am. Live minnow races will also be available for $1, with proceeds benefiting the Glen Ellyn Park District scholarship fund.

Build A Boat This Year!
Gather a crew and take on the challenge! All entries receive 20 sheets of corrugated cardboard to get started building their boats! New this year, the Park District will provide
paddles. Kayak paddles will not be allowed. Pre-registration is required.

FREE Cardboard Boat Building Seminars
Attend one of our free boat building seminars conducted by previous year’s regatta champions. Of course, they won’t tell you all of their secrets, but they can help make you seaworthy! Advanced registration is required by calling (630) 858-2463. Available May 13 or May 20 from 9:30am-10:30am at the Main Street Recreation Center.
