Adopt-a-Park

Do you love your local park as much as we do? If you’d like to help keep our parks looking beautiful, Glen Ellyn Park District is offering an adopt-a-park program! Groups or individuals that want to adopt one of the parks will be responsible for picking up litter, pulling weeds, adding flowers, and inspecting playgrounds in the park or green space they have chosen. This program helps the community take pride in our parks and ensures that they remain beautiful, safe, green spaces that we can all enjoy. Parks are routinely inspected and maintained by Parks Department staff. The Adopt-A-Park program boosts these efforts.

How to Adopt a Park

Groups interested in the program should download and submit the “Adopt-A-Park Application” for the current season (below). After application review, a park will be assigned to your group. Adopt-a-Park Participation

The program is open to individuals, neighbors, families, churches, youth groups, businesses and community organizations. We will work with your group to set up a schedule, determine projects, and work alongside you.

Adopt-a-Park Time Commitment

Groups are encouraged to organize four volunteer events per year to help with clean-up efforts, planting projects, and other determined activities. Your group will be responsible for recruiting volunteers for these dates. In addition, monthly inspections may be requested and results should be submitted to the coordinator.
