The Glen Ellyn Park District has published its Annual Report for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2018. Within the Annual Report are highlights of the Park District’s 2018 financial results and achievements. The report also contains information on natural area restoration projects, community events, partnerships, athletics and upcoming projects for 2019.

Glen Ellyn Park District residents may receive a hard copy of the Annual Report at the Spring Avenue Recreation Center, 185 Spring Avenue, Glen Ellyn.
The Glen Ellyn Park District was awarded a $400,000 Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant by Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). The OSLAD grant will fund a portion of the planned phase IV improvements at Ackerman Park, which includes renovation of the softball “hub”, an artificial turf athletic field, irrigation and drainage upgrades, bioswales, improved grass fields, an outdoor exercise area, and a trail system throughout the entire park. Baseball is the All-American sport. It can be learned at a very young age, with players developing skills that enable them to play a variety of positions. The Glen Ellyn Park District offers a Youth Baseball program that caters to children in Pre-K through grade 8, with parent participation as the driving force behind the program’s success. Read More »
Volleyball is a terrific sport that offers many benefits to those who play. After developing fundamental skills such as setting, passing, and serving, the sport can be played indoors, on grass, and even on the beach. Those who play regularly get valuable exercise, and develop improved hand-eye coordination, agility, speed, and balance. Soccer is one of the most popular sports in the world, and for good reason. Not only does it provide kids with an opportunity for regular exercise, it helps them meet and make new friends and learn or improve on a variety of skills. The Glen Ellyn Park District partners with the Glen Ellyn Youth Soccer Organization to provide a spring soccer program for boys and girls ages Pre-K through grade 10.
