Holiday Light Recycling

Keep your unwanted and broken holiday light strands and extension cords out of the landfill. We’re once again partnering with Elgin Recycling to offer free holiday light recycling.

Drop-off containers are conveniently located outside Ackerman SFC, Dr. Frank Johnson Center, Spring Avenue Recreation Center, and Main Street Recreation Center from Monday, November 24, 2025, through Sunday, January 25, 2026. Accepted light types include:

  • Mini (or Italian) Lights
  • C7 Lights
  • C9 Lights
  • Rope Lights
  • LED Lights
  • Extension Cords

All colors and lengths will be accepted. Please note that garland, live greens, wreaths, and other non-recyclables are not accepted in this program.
