Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center

The Glen Ellyn Park District owns and operates Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center, located at 800 St. Charles Road in Glen Ellyn. This top-notch fitness facility provides classes, equipment, amenities, and services dedicated to helping you achieve your health and fitness goals.

Membership options are available for both residents and nonresidents and are offered on a month-to-month basis. The facility offers more than 55 classes each week, which are free for members. In addition, Ackerman SFC features three full-size basketball courts, an indoor turf, an elevated walking/running track, and the Ackerman Training Room. Indoor batting cages are available to rent. Members may also use the Spring Avenue Fitness Center, located at 185 Spring Avenue, at no charge.

Spring Avenue Fitness

The Spring Avenue Fitness Center is located within the Spring Avenue Recreation Center, 185 Spring Avenue in Glen Ellyn. The fitness center provides users with a friendly, comfortable setting equipped with high-quality equipment for cardiovascular fitness, weightlifting, and muscle toning. Membership is open to both residents and nonresidents with annual and 3-month passes available. In addition, you can visit the Spring Avenue Fitness Center and purchase a daily pass.


Group Fitness

Ackerman SFC offers more than 55 group fitness classes each week that are free for Ackerman members. Select classes are also held at the Spring Avenue Recreation Center, Main Street Recreation Center, Sunset Pool, or outdoors in our parks.

The variety offered by group fitness classes such as BODYPUMPâ„¢, Cycling, Yoga, and Barre will help you stave off boredom and stay motivated. Classes often feature energizing music, and the social atmosphere (and the instructor) will keep you accountable. You’ll forget you’re working out!


Outdoor Fitness Equipment

Outdoor fitness equipment offers residents and nonresidents the space to keep up with fitness goals while enjoying fresh air. At Ackerman Park, 800 St. Charles Road, a variety of equipment is available, including city bikes, a sit-up bench, push-up bars, a suspension trainer, a magnetic kettlebell trainer, parallel bars, an incline press, and three different level steppers. The equipment can be used alone or paired with running or walking on the Ackerman Park trail to add cross-training to your cardiovascular workout.

Please note that unlike our playgrounds, which are designed for children, this facility is intended for fitness activities.
