    08/12/20: Program Updates Due to Extended Power Outage

    Power has been restored at Main Street Recreation Center. The facility is open to program/camp participants only. Spring Avenue is still without power, phone, or internet service, and is closed to the public. The preliminary restore time for Spring Avenue is 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 15. An update on programs held at these two facilities is below:

    • Camp Caravan: Moved to Ackerman SFC for Wednesday, August 12. Will return to Main Street on Thursday, August 13.
    • Bricks 4 Kidz: All classes will take place at Main Street.
    • All Star Sports: Running as scheduled outside at Main Street.
    • Cruisin’ Adventure Camp: Running as scheduled.
    • Pinata Palooza: Rescheduled to Thursday, August 27.

    Soccer Waivers:
    Please note, Level 2 sports waivers for House or Travel Soccer should sent via email to bthomas@gepark.org. To submit waivers in person, please visit Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center, 800 St. Charles Road. Waivers are due by August 14.

    Learn & Play:
    Registration for Learn & Play Remote Learning Day Camp (Lake Ellyn Boathouse location only) can be completed online or in-person at Ackerman SFC beginning at 10 a.m. on August 12. As a reminder, online registration can also be completed from a mobile device. The program code is 118600.

    All Other Programs/Facilities:
    Programs held at all other District parks and facilities are running as scheduled. Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center, Holes & Knolls Mini Golf, and the Maryknoll Splash Park are open for business. Spring Avenue Fitness Center members may use Ackerman SFC with photo ID during the closure.

    The District will post an update when services have been restored to Spring Avenue Recreation Center. In the interim, please email support@gepark.org if you have any questions or need help.

    The Park District conducted an immediate assessment of all Park District property including facilities, parks, and athletic fields on Monday afternoon. While experiencing downed trees, fallen limbs and other debris, the District fortunately did not incur any significant damage. Cleanup will take several days and will be prioritized based on safety.

    Learn & Play Remote Learning Day Camp

    Glen Ellyn Park District has partnered with B.R. Ryall YMCA to offer Learn & Play, a new remote learning day camp for children entering 1st through 5th grade. The program is designed to provide a safe and fun environment conducive to self-guided learning for children that need all-day care. Outdoor activities, games, and crafts will also be part of the experience. Read More »

    Athletics Update: New Sports Guidelines Released by Governor Pritzker

    July 29, 2020: Governor Pritzker just announced new restrictions for youth and adult recreational athletics. This includes, but is not limited to, park district sports programs, school-based sports (IHSA and IESA), travel clubs, and recreational leagues. In addition, IHSA has also presented their plans regarding Illinois high school sports for the 2020-2021 school year. Read More »
