Attention Ackerman SFC Members! Thanks to the 2022 voter-approved referendum, we’re upgrading your workout experience! To install new HVAC units for the recently renovated first and second-floor fitness studios, we’ll be opening Ackerman SFC a bit later than usual on Friday, March 22nd. Due to a helicopter lift for this project, facility access will be delayed until around 1 pm for everyone’s safety. We apologize for any inconvenience and will keep you updated on the Glen Ellyn Park District hotline (gepark.org/hotline) if there are any changes, or an earlier opening becomes possible. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

In honor of World Down Syndrome Day on Thursday, March 21, we’re partnering with the Rock Your Socks Drive to collect new, unused socks for People’s Resource Center. Help everyone “Rock Their Socks” by donating between March 1st and 31st at Ackerman SFC, Main Street Recreation Center, or Spring Avenue Recreation Center.
As part of due diligence during the reconstruction of the Frank Johnson Center, the Glen Ellyn Park District conducted soil tests revealing the presence of contaminants at depth. This discovery does not impact the planned site improvements; however, the District has chosen to temporarily close the playground out of an abundance of caution. The playground structure will be temporarily removed in mid-February and will be reinstalled and reopened after remediation is complete. Stay tuned for reopening announcements on our website and social media pages. For more information about this project, please contact Nate Troia at [email protected] or visit gepark.org/projects.
