Fourth of July Closures and Hours

Park District facilities will be closed or have special hours on Thursday, July 4, 2024, in observance of Independence Day. Click here to view all facility hours.

  • For information on delayed openings or facility closures at Sunset Pool, Holes & Knolls, and Maryknoll Splash Park due to inclement or cold weather, please visit the Park District hotline line at gepark.org/hotline. Here, you can also check for updates on the Freedom Four 4-Mile Run/Walk.
  • The 4th of July parade and fireworks are organized by the Fourth of July Committee, an all-volunteer organization in Glen Ellyn. For more information on these events, visit their website at: glenellyn4thofjuly.org

Important Information: Lake Foxcroft Dredging Project

To improve water quality, we’ve begun dredging the shoreline of Lake Foxcroft. This approximately two-week project removes excess sediment, a source of nutrients that contribute to algae blooms. Additionally, dredging reduces hydrogen sulfide production, improving aquatic health and eliminating unpleasant odors. Read More »

Notice of Venue Change

Notice is hereby given that the Glen Ellyn Park District Board of Commissioners has changed the location and/or venue for their Workshop Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 7, 2024. The Workshop Meeting of the Board of Commissioners for Tuesday, May 7, 2024, was previously to be held at the Frank Johnson Center, located at 490 Kenilworth Avenue, but will now be held at the Spring Avenue Recreation Center, which is located at 185 Spring Avenue in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. The meeting will begin at the same previously scheduled time of 7 pm.
