Demolition of Former US Bank Site to Begin 9/24

UPDATE: Demolition is now scheduled to begin tomorrow, Wednesday, September 24, instead of the previously planned Friday, September 26.

Demolition of the former US Bank building will mark the start of Phase 1 of the Glen Ellyn Downtown Community Park project — a joint effort between the Glen Ellyn Park District and the Village of Glen Ellyn. The demolition is expected to take approximately 1 to 3 weeks. Once complete, the area where the building once stood will be filled in and seeded with grass. The existing parking lot will remain in place and will not be removed until the start of park construction in 2026. Please note that project timelines are weather-dependent and subject to change. For questions or more information, please contact Nathan Troia at [email protected].
