Notice of Meeting Cancellation

Notice is hereby given that the Glen Ellyn Park District Board of Commissioners has cancelled their Workshop Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, 2025. The next meeting of Board Commissioners will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Spring Avenue Recreation Center, 185 Spring Avenue, Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and via Zoom, and will begin at its normal time of 7 pm.

Delayed Opening at Ackerman SFC on Tuesday, April 22

To facilitate HVAC unit upgrades, Ackerman SFC will open at 10 am on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Panfish Park Public Information Meeting

The Glen Ellyn Park District will hold a Public Information Meeting regarding the proposed master plan design for Panfish Park. The meeting will take place in person at the Glen Ellyn Police Department, 65 S. Park Boulevard, on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 7 pm. All interested individuals are invited to attend. District Awarded $8,000 Grant for Urban Forestry Management Plan

Delayed Opening at Ackerman SFC on Friday, April 11

To upgrade the HVAC units for the first- and second-floor fitness studios, Ackerman SFC will open later than usual on Friday, April 11, 2025. Due to the nature of the project, facility access will be delayed until 10 am for everyone’s safety. Additionally, the west side of the main parking lot will be closed until 10 am for equipment staging. Parking on the east side of the facility will remain open to the public.

We apologize for any inconvenience and will keep you updated on the hotline at gepark.org/hotline if there are any changes or if an earlier opening becomes possible. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Aquatics Job Fair on April 8

Sunset Pool is hiring for the 2025 summer season! The Glen Ellyn Park District invites job seekers ages 15 and older to attend the Aquatics Job Fair on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 2:30-6:30 pm at the Lake Ellyn Boathouse. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet hiring managers, learn about available positions, and interview on-site for lifeguard, swim instructor, and other roles. 

For those unable to attend the Job Fair, applications can also be submitted online at gepark.org/jobs.

Before- & After-School Information: 2025-2026 School Year

Glen Ellyn School District 41 is continuing its partnership with the B.R. Ryall YMCA and the Glen Ellyn Park District to provide before- and after-school programs at district elementary schools and the new Kindergarten Center during the 2025-2026 school year. Read More »

Don’t miss the Summer Job Fair on February 28

Looking for a summer job with the Glen Ellyn Park District? Join us at the Main Street Recreation Center on Friday, February 28, from 2-6 pm to explore positions such as camp counselor, lifeguard, and more. Teens (15+) and others can gain experience, build skills, and enjoy perks like flexible schedules, training, a free fitness membership, and guest passes. On-site interviews will be available!

Afternoon Program and Facility Updates for Wednesday, February 12

Programs
Due to the predicted weather conditions, all pre-registered Park District activities scheduled to begin at 3 pm or later on Wednesday, February 12, are canceled.

Facilities and Drop-in Activities

  • Spring Avenue and Main Street Recreation Centers will be closing at 5 pm.
  • Ackerman SFC will be open until 10 pm and available as a warming center. Currently, no group fitness classes are canceled, but please check the hotline for updates.
  • Additionally, Ackerman SFC will have open court and turf available from 4:30 pm-7 pm. Capacity levels may apply; please call ahead. Click here to view fees.

Please remember to dress appropriately, bring along emergency supplies, and use caution if playing outdoors or driving.

Important Program and Facility Updates for Wednesday, February 12

Due to D41’s announcement of e-learning for tomorrow, Glen Ellyn Park District Preschool Education, Kindergarten Enrichment, Adventure Time, as well as any other programs or practices scheduled to take place at D41 facilities, are canceled on Wednesday, February 12.

All other Glen Ellyn Park District programs scheduled before 3 pm on Wednesday are expected to run as scheduled. Park District facilities will also maintain their regular hours on Wednesday. If any changes occur, updates will be posted on gepark.org/hotline, and participants will be contacted directly.

For changes to afternoon activities starting at 3 pm or later, the Park District will post updates on the website by 2 pm and contact participants directly.
