January Blood & Food Drive

Start the year by giving back! Visit Ackerman SFC between 9 am and 1 pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, to make a difference through blood donation or contributions of food and/or toiletries to Glen House Food Pantry. Walk-ins are welcome for blood donations, but it’s best to book your spot on the Versiti website.

Preschool Open House, January 18

Stop by our Preschool Open House on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 9 am to 12 pm! Meet our incredible teaching team, tour the classrooms, ask questions about the 2025/26 school year, and learn about our programs: Tiny Tot 2-Year-Olds, 2-Year-Olds, 3-Year-Olds, 4-Year-Olds, and Kindergarten Enrichment. Children are welcome to attend with their caregivers. This is a drop-in event; no registration required.

Enjoy Free Week at Ackerman SFC from January 1-7, 2025

Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center is excited to invite the community to Free Week from Wednesday, January 1 to Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Throughout the week, the center will waive drop-in fees for both the fitness center and group fitness classes, making it easier than ever to kickstart your wellness journey!

To participate, just register at the Ackerman SFC front desk during Free Week. The offer is available to individuals 18 years of age or older with a valid ID, or those under 18 accompanied by an adult.

Park District Receives 17th Consecutive GFOA Award

The Glen Ellyn Park District’s Finance Department has once again been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2023. Celebrate the season of giving at the 5th Annual Toys for Tots Toy Drive on Sunday, December 8, from 1 pm to 3 pm at Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center (800 St. Charles Road). Ackerman Parking Lot: Construction Updates

Construction on the perimeter ‘ring road’ parking lot at Ackerman Park is underway. This project aims to enhance the lot by improving surfacing, widening aisles and stalls, and increasing accessibility for all visitors. Construction is expected to continue until Thanksgiving, with portions of the lot closed during this time. Submit Your Jack-o’-Lantern for the Pumpkins on Main Display

This Halloween season, the Glen Ellyn Park District invites you to participate in Pumpkins on Main, a festive display of jack-o-lanterns at the Main Street Recreation Center. From October 24 through October 31, enjoy a glowing gallery of creatively carved pumpkins, brought to life by local community members and businesses. Glow in the Park Lantern Walk Shines Bright, Raising $4,406 for Lurie Children’s Hospital

On Sunday, September 15, the Glen Ellyn Park District and Charlie’s Corner Foundation hosted the magical Glow in the Park Lantern Walk at Lake Ellyn Park. The event not only brought the community together for a night of family fun but also raised an impressive $4,406 to support the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Ann & Robert H. Share Your Thoughts on Glen Oak Park: Join Our Open House on September 19

Residents who would like to provide input on the future of Glen Oak Park and its tot lot playground are invited to attend an Open House on Thursday, September 19, from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Spring Avenue Recreation Center. Drop in to learn about the project, share your thoughts, and ask any questions. Everyone is welcome, and no RSVP is needed.
