Boating in the Park

All ages
Take in the beauty of Lake Ellyn right from the water. Rent a kayak, canoe, or a pedal boat for 20 minutes for $5. Boating in the Park is open to all ages, however, all boating participants are required to properly wear and fit into the provided Glen Ellyn Park District life jacket before entering the lake. Life jackets are available for children (~20 lbs. and up) and adults. For questions, please contact David MacDonald at

Monday Miles

Year-Round Running/Walking Club

All ages
Step out with fellow runners, joggers, and walkers every Monday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and log your distance to earn special milestone prizes. Monday Miles will be held outdoors at Ackerman Park when weather allows and indoors on the walking track during inclement weather. Free for Ackerman SFC members. Walking track pass or $3 drop-in fee required for non-members. Contact Michael Nishimura at with questions. Special theme nights this summer include:

Adult Swim Club

Ages 18 and up
This is a non-competitive swim program led by a swim coach with daily workouts for participants. Register for a session at or pay the daily drop-in fee (paid at Sunset Pool). For questions, contact Chad Shingler at Maximum of 50 participants per day.

Friday Night Senior Bingo

Ages 55 and up
Let’s get together for bingo! Join us Friday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center for Senior Bingo Night. Enjoy several rounds of bingo while socializing with the community. Prizes will be awarded each night, including a grand prize at the end of the last game. $1 per card. Donuts & Bingo

Ages 55 and up
Play bingo at Main Street Recreation Center on the 2nd Thursday of each month. Visit with friends over coffee and donuts while playing everyone’s favorite game. Bingo will be free to play, and games will start at 10:30 a.m. One bingo card per participant. Coffee, donuts, and bingo cards will be provided, and prizes will be awarded to winners. Guided Nature Walks

Ages 18 and up
Join us for a stroll through local natural areas! You’ll learn a bit about seasonal nature happenings while also getting some exercise. Walks will take place rain or shine. For questions, please contact Chris Gutmann at

Storytime in the Park

Glen Ellyn Public Library

All ages
Come out to your favorite neighborhood parks for songs, rhymes, and stories. This program is designed for children and their grownups. Please plan to attend and be engaged with your child for this program. Drop offs are not allowed. In case of inclement weather, please check the Glen Ellyn Public Library social media for updates. Stay & Play Open Gym

Children (preschool or younger) can stay active and play in the Spring Avenue Gymnastics Center. This safe and fun environment is the perfect spot for your child to interact with you and other peers. Space is limited to the first 30 participants. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. Please pay inside the Gymnastics Center. For questions, contact Christine Hartnett at
