Weather-Related Closings and Cancellation Update for Thursday, January 31

For the safety of our participants and families, Glen Ellyn Park District is modifying our regular operations on Thursday, January 31.

Thursday, January 31

All scheduled classes (including preschool) occurring before 3:00pm have been cancelled. Classes taking place after 3:00pm will run as scheduled apart from programs held at District 41 facilities, which have been cancelled for Thursday.

  • Main Street Recreation Center: 1:00pm-8:00pm
  • Spring Avenue Recreation Center: 1:00pm-8:00pm
  • Spring Avenue Fitness Center: 1:00pm-8:00pm
  • Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center: See Below
    • Fitness center and walking track: 9:00am-10:00pm 
    • Open gym and turf: 9:00am-4:00pm
    • Open Pickleball: 12:00pm-3:00pm
    • Fit & Play Child Care: 5:00pm-7:30pm
    • Indoor climbing wall: 5:00pm-8:00pm
    • Morning group fitness classes are cancelled. Classes beginning at 5:30pm or later will run as scheduled.

Friday, February 1

Park District facilities and programs are scheduled to resume normal operations on Friday, February 1. In the event that additional cancellations are needed, updates will be posted on our website and weather hotline (Rainout Line).

Please remember to dress appropriately, bring along emergency supplies, and use extreme caution if heading outside or driving. Due to the dangerously cold temperatures, we recommend staying indoors.
