Registration ends Feb. 15 for spring baseball, softball

Posted on: January 17, 2020

It’s registration time for all Pre-K through 8th graders interested in playing spring league baseball or softball! Registration is open between now and Saturday, February 15, with the season running April through June.

New and returning players can register online at www.gepark.org/register or in-person using the Athletic Registration Form at the Spring Avenue or Main Street Recreation Centers.

YOUTH BASEBALL:
Baseball is co-ed at all levels. Teams are formed by grade, and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis until the registration deadline. Pre-K through Kindergarten will play T-ball, and the older grades will experience coach-pitch, machine-pitch, and eventually kid-pitch games.

3rd through 8th grade teams utilize a full draft. Player evaluations for the 2020 season will be held in February. Visit www.glenellynbaseball.com for more information.

Early registration fees range from $120-$210 per player for Glen Ellyn Park District residents ($170-$260 for nonresidents).

GIRLS SOFTBALL:
Leagues are recreational at the younger ages and become progressively more competitive in the leagues for older players. Girls playing in the 3rd grade league and up will participate in Playoff and All-Star games.

Early registration fees range from $135-$185 per player for Glen Ellyn Park District residents ($185-$235 for nonresidents). Players will be provided with team shirts and protective equipment, but must provide their own bat, glove and helmet.
