Togetherness Tuesday

Together is a wonderful place to be.

• Video chat with another family for game night.
• Have the kids send a hug to a loved one!
• Create a quarantine photo book for grandparents. 
• Virtual storytime. Have a loved one read a bedtime story to the kids!
• Host a virtual karaoke, dinner, or happy hour with family and friends. 
• Find yourself cooking more lately? Start a recipe sharing group!
• Random acts of kindness to friends and family. Send a dinner gift certificate from a local restaurant, decorate someone’s sidewalk with cheerful messages, or decorate your windows with pictures and funny jokes for people walking by your home. 
• Break out that stationary and write letters to friends, near or far!
• Mixtapes are a thing of the past. Create a personalized digital playlist for your friends!

Wilderness Wednesday

Scientifically proven to contain the most nostalgic value.

• Set up a tent in your backyard (or living room) for a camping adventure! 
• Use this soundtrack for your “trip” to the wilderness.
• Make themed meals and snacks like hot dogs, GORP, and ants on a log.
• Enjoy a gooey-treat with this indoors s’mores recipe.
• Turn your bathtub into the neighborhood fishing hole. 
• Go on a backyard animal safari. How many animals can you spot?
• Get out the potato sacks (or pillowcases) for a race and the tug-of-war rope to see which side is stronger!
• Make easy animal track stamps with the kids for a fun painting project. For the older kids, try at camp classic: tie-dye. 
• Go virtual stargazing in the Glen Ellyn sky.
• Turn out the lights, gather in the living room with your sleeping bags, and tell scary (or not-so-scary) stories.
• Play a game of flashlight tag!
• Grab those plastic easter eggs and make your own glowing fireflies!

Thor’s Day 

Odin’s beard! This day, I like it!

• Dress up as your favorite superhero (or make up your own) and have a photo shoot.
• Play a round of Avengers Bingo.
• Design a shield from a paper plate or no-sew superhero cuffs from toilet paper rolls.

Frozen Friday

The sky’s awake, so we have to play!

• Play the Frozen T-shirt Game. Prep 1 to 2 days in advance. This game is great for tweens and teens!
• Decorate a white t-shirt to look like Olaf.
• Create and wear a crown like Elsa or antlers like Sven!
• Do you wanna hear a story? Click here or here.
• Make paper snowflakes or Q-tip snowflakes! Older kids? Make 3D snowflakes!
• Create your own Olaf with cotton balls, cardboard, paper, glue, & sticks.
• Snack on Frozen-inspired Rice Krispie treats or make ice cream in a bag! For a healthier choice, serve carrots and call them snowman noses with a side of melted snow (water).
• Learn how to draw your favorite Frozen characters direct from the masters themselves!
