IUOE Local 150 Protest

Posted on: December 1, 2021

At the southwest corner of Main Street and Hill Avenue, in front of the Main Street Recreation Center, protest signs and associated vehicles have been present within the right of way over the past few weeks. IUOE Local 150 is in dispute with Hacienda Landscaping Inc. Hacienda is currently providing the construction services for improvements to Newton Park. While the dispute has nothing to do with the Glen Ellyn Park District and is not related to quality of work or performance, Local 150 has the right to protest and establish a lawful ambulatory picket.

That is, Local 150 may follow Hacienda to various job sites and establish a primary picket against Hacienda when and for as long as Hacienda remains present at the job site. In doing so, the protestor(s) cannot impede traffic (neither auto nor pedestrian) but may locate signs and vehicles in a public right of way while present.
