Originally constructed in the 1950s, Sunset Pool has had no major improvements for more than 20 years. It is one of the most well attended facilities within Glen Ellyn and always rated as a highly valued community asset. Implementing periodic improvements will ensure the pool continues to serve our residents.

To ensure the facility continues to remain capable of serving the demands and needs of the community for years to come, from the recently approved referendum, planned improvements include:

• Replacement of outdated water slides
• New splash pad with dedicated family restroom
• Dedicated restroom for lap pool
• New water play feature
• Improved entrance including simplified access to pool deck
• Added dedicated family changing areas
• Upgraded shade structures and outdoor seating
• Enhanced food service

An open house for the public will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at the Spring Avenue Recreation Center, 185 Spring Avenue, from 5:00 – 6:30 P.M., at which time preliminary information regarding the improvements will be available. Park District staff will be available for questions, comments, and suggestions. There will be an opportunity to present your suggestions on a comment card as well.
