United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 11, Protest

Posted on: February 5, 2024

At the Spring Avenue Recreation Center, protest signs and associated vehicles have been present within the right of way. United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 11, is in dispute with Ridgeline Enterprise Inc. Ridgeline is currently providing the construction services for improvements to Sunset Pool. While the dispute has nothing to do with the Glen Ellyn Park District and is not related to quality of work or performance, Local 11 has the right to protest and establish a lawful ambulatory picket both at the Park District’s headquarters and at the job site where Ridgeline is conducting work until Ridgeline has completed its work.

It’s important to note that the protestors are not permitted to impede traffic, whether auto or pedestrian, but they may place signs and vehicles in a public right of way while present.
