Extreme Heat Watch – July 23-24, 2025

The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Watch for Wednesday, July 23, through Thursday, July 24, 2025, signaling hot and humid conditions. On these dates, outdoor programs will either be relocated indoors or modified to reduce time spent outside. Indoor programs will proceed as scheduled. In the event that a program is canceled, registered participants will be notified by the program supervisor via email.

All Glen Ellyn Park District facilities will maintain their regular operating hours. Additionally, Ackerman SFC will serve as a designated cooling center during these hours.

Please remember to:

  • Limit strenuous activity.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
  • Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
  • Wear loose-fitting, light-colored clothing.
  • Never leave children or pets in hot cars.
