Glen Ellyn Park District Announces Board Vacancy

January 27, 2016 — Glen Ellyn Park District Board Commissioner Gary Mayo has announced his intention to move outside the Glen Ellyn Park District boundaries within the next few months. In anticipation of Commissioner Mayo’s departure, the Glen Ellyn Park District will be seeking candidates to serve as Park District Commissioner for approximately one year until the next Park District Commissioner election which will take place on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.

As part of the process to fill the vacancy, the Glen Ellyn Park District will accept applications of interested candidates through 8:00 p.m. on February 22, 2016. All applications will be reviewed and selected candidates will be requested to interview. The interviews are tentatively to take place between March 1 and March 11. A recommended candidate will be presented to the entire Board on Tuesday, March 15. On Tuesday, April 12, the candidate will be formally appointed and sworn into office, assuming the role of Park Board Commissioner from that date until April, 2017. The dates prior to appointment are subject to change.
