July 1-August 31 Free Photo Contest
Submit your best shots of you and/or your family enjoying Glen Ellyn Park District facilities, parks, programs and events! Winning entries (1st place-3rd place) in each category will receive a prize. Photographers of all ages and skill levels are invited to enter – whether taking a photo with your iPhone or a DSLR camera. Learn more.
July 2 Storytime in the Park
Head to Newton Park for stories, music, and movement with the Glen Ellyn Public Library. Storytime in the Park begins at 7pm. Don’t forget your blanket and bug spray! This week’s theme is robots.
July 4 Afternoon Festivities
Bring your family for a couple of hours of fun and entertainment after the Fourth of July Parade including moonwalks, inflatable obstacle courses, penny carnival games with tickets redeemable for prizes, live music, dancing, and face painting. Concessions will be available for purchase! A $3 wristband (cash only) lets kids enjoy all of the action while supporting the Glen Ellyn Park District Scholarship Fund. Held at Lake Ellyn Park from 1pm-4pm.
July 9 Storytime in the Park
Head to Glen Ellyn Manor Park for stories, music, and movement with the Glen Ellyn Public Library. Storytime in the Park begins at 7pm. Don’t forget your blanket and bug spray! This week’s theme is food.
July 10 Movie in the Park – The Santa Clause
Christmas in July! Enjoy a free showing of The Santa Clause at Newton Park. Take part in a special pre-movie activity beginning at 8:15pm and design/wear your own “ugly” t-shirt for a chance to win a prize. The movie will begin between 8:30pm-9pm.
July 16 Storytime in the Park
Head to Spalding Park for stories, music, and movement with the Glen Ellyn Public Library. Storytime in the Park begins at 7pm. Don’t forget your blanket and bug spray! This week’s theme is sports.
July 17 Family Fun Night
Don’t miss this family-friendly, fun-filled, FREE evening of music and entertainment, exciting rides and bounce houses, summer craft projects, face painting and so much more! Pack a picnic, or enjoy refreshments available for purchase at this event. Held at Lake Ellyn Park from 5:30pm-7:30pm.
July 23 Storytime in the Park
Head to Lake Foxcroft Park for stories, music, and movement with the Glen Ellyn Public Library. Storytime in the Park begins at 7pm. Don’t forget your blanket and bug spray! This week’s theme is sharks.
July 24 Jazz in the Park
Listen to your favorite Big Band tunes during a free live concert by the Glen Ellyn Jazz Ensemble at Newton Park. Be sure to pack a blanket, lawn chairs and picnic dinner. The concert will run from 7pm-9pm.
July 31 Movie in the Park – Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
Happee Birthdae, Harry! Watch a free showing of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone at Lake Ellyn Park. Take part in a special pre-movie activity beginning at 7:45pm and dress up like your favorite character from the film for a costume contest. Due to running time, the movie will begin promptly at 8pm.
