Posted on: April 30, 2019

We’re gearing up for a special ‘Throwback Edition’ of our Movies in the Parks series to celebrate our 100-year anniversary. The family-friendly lineup includes a love-stricken Miss Piggy, a poison apple, a jolly Tim Allen, an epic match of Quidditch, and an adventure down the rabbit hole!

The outdoor movies are free, and each night features a special activity and contest. You’ll want to pack a blanket, lawn chairs, picnic dinner, and bug spray. Except for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, pre-movie activities begin at 8:15pm and movies begin between 8:30pm-9pm.

The Dive-in Movie is free for Sunset Pool members, non-members must pay the daily admission fee. Concessions will available for purchase from 8pm-9pm, so you can grab a slice of pizza or an ice cream sandwich to snack on during the showing. The movie will be shown on a big blow-up screen, and visitors can float in the pool and watch the movie at the same time.

In the event of inclement weather, movies will be canceled. Notices will be posted on the Park District’s Rainout Line at www.gepark.org/weather. The Movies in the Parks series rain date is Friday, August 16; the rain date is Thursday, August 15 for the Dive-in Movie.
