Recipient of the Glen Ellyn Park District’s Distinguished Service Award Announced

March 12, 2015 — Glen Ellyn Park District Commissioner Richard Dunn was awarded the Distinguished Service Award for 2014 at the recent Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce Community Awards Breakfast. Recognized for his devotion to significantly improving the quality of life in Glen Ellyn, Richard Dunn has been an active volunteer in the community for over 25 years.

Dunn is just completing a four year term as a Glen Ellyn Park District Commissioner. In addition to his volunteer elected role as Park District Commissioner, Richard has been an active member of the local Kiwanis Club of Central DuPage County, and a longtime member of the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce. Richard also initiated and organized the Welcome Center over 10 years ago serving the homeless community on Sundays at First United Methodist Church in Glen Ellyn.

“Commissioner Dunn has been a true, selfless and tireless volunteer in the Glen Ellyn Community over the last 25 years,” remarked David Harris, Glen Ellyn Park District Executive Director. “His commitment shines through every time he enters our doors.”
