District Awarded $8,000 Grant for Urban Forestry Management Plan

Posted on: April 14, 2025

We’re thrilled to share that the Glen Ellyn Park District has been awarded an $8,000 grant to complete tree inventories and develop an Urban Forestry Management Plan for the entire District. This will help manage one of our most valuable assets in the community – our tree canopy.

Funding was provided by the Urban and Community Forestry Programs of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and USDA Forest Service Eastern Region. This institution is an equal opportunity provider. The grant program is being administered by The Morton Arboretum’s Chicago Region Trees Initiative to provide support for communities affected by emerald ash borer infestations.
