Mark your calendar for Friday, September 12, from 5-8 pm at Lake Ellyn Park for Glow in the Park! This event is more than just a beautiful lantern walk—it’s an evening of fun, community, and support for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Lurie Children’s Hospital. Enjoy live music by Tres Moustache, face painting, balloon art, and a bubble show. Kids (and adults!) can decorate lanterns for $10 while supplies last, and food options like Kona Ice and Heavenly Hot Dogs will be available for purchase. The night also features an inflatable obstacle course and slide, as well as a life-size Hungry Hippos game. The lantern walk begins at 7:20 pm.

Admission is free, and attendees can support the cause with a cash donation or by purchasing a lantern kit—at the event or ahead of time to decorate. Pre-purchase kits for $10 at the Main Street Recreation Center through Thursday, September 11. Each kit includes a paper lantern shade, an LED light, and a carrying stick.
