Featuring the Glen Ellyn Jazz Ensemble, there is no better way to spend a summer evening than at the Glen Ellyn Park District’s “Jazz in the Park” events. This sixteen member group will be playing a mix of the very best big band tunes from Glen Miller, Woody Herman, Gordon Goodwin, Count Basie, and beyond, including songs from some of the most popular contemporary jazz musicians and groups.

This event is open to all ages and is completely free to attend. While we do encourage bringing a blanket and a picnic, alcohol will not be permitted at “Jazz in the Park”. If there is rain or other severe weather, that night’s performance will be canceled. This year’s events will take place on the follow dates and locations:

• Wednesday, June 15 from 7-9pm at Maryknoll Park
• Wednesday, July 13 from 7-9pm at Newton Park
• Wednesday, August 17 from 7-9pm at Lake Ellyn Park

This is a great opportunity to grab your family or your friends and come down and enjoy the music! If you love big band music or are a fan of the Glen Ellyn Jazz Ensemble, this is your chance to see them free of cost. This ensemble has performed at many local parks and are well accustomed to playing to the crowds and sharing their love of this genre. You only have three chances to see them perform in the parks this summer, so make sure to put these events on your calendar!
