Welcome to Safety Village

Safety Village opened in the Summer of 1978 at the Dr. Frank Johnson Center and was originally called Safety Town. The program has been located at a couple of centers, but it moved to its current location at Spring Avenue Recreation Center in 2001. It was remodeled in 2015 with a $40,000 grant funded by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
