Overflow parking is available near Building 4 at Roosevelt Glen Corporate Center, 799 Roosevelt Road. Please use caution when crossing Route 53 and utilize the pedestrian crosswalk. September 11, 2021 Today, the Glen Ellyn Park District remembers those killed and injured on September 11, 2001, their families, and the countless heroes who responded without hesitation that day. The public is welcome to join the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company at its annual memorial service commemorating the events of September 11, 2001. The memorial service will take place today at 6:30 p.m. outside the front of Fire Station 61 at Main Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. The service is expected to last approximately 30 minutes.

August 31, 2021 The District’s first outdoor automated external defibrillator (AED) units have been installed in three parks. Located at Ackerman (two locations), Newton, and Village Green Parks, the AEDs are mounted in a heated and weatherproof cabinet. August 24, 2021 The Glow in the Park Lantern Walk will return to Lake Ellyn Park on Sunday, September 12! Purchase a lantern to decorate and bring to the event at the Spring Avenue Recreation Center. Each lantern kit is $10 and includes a paper lantern shade, LED light, and carrying stick. Proceeds from lantern kit sales benefit Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. A limited supply of lantern kits will also be available to purchase and decorate at the event (cash only).

The next meeting of Board Commissioners will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at the Spring Avenue Recreation Center, 185 Spring Avenue, Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and via Zoom, and will begin at its normal time of 7:00 p.m.

August 2, 2021 The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) released new guidance recommending that fully vaccinated individuals resume wearing face coverings indoors in areas of the country where COVID-19 transmission is “high or substantial”. DuPage County has entered into the “substantial” transmission category. Given this development, Glen Ellyn Park District is strongly recommending face coverings for all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, inside our facilities. July 21, 2021 If you are visiting Lake Ellyn, Lake Foxcroft or Churchill Parks, please be aware of red-winged blackbirds. During mating and breeding seasons, which runs from late May to August, this species can be extremely territorial and may exhibit aggressive behavior in defense of their nests. June 30, 2021 Residents are encouraged to walk, bike or carpool to the Glen Ellyn Park District’s Freedom Four™ 4-Mile Run, as there is no parking on Lenox or the roads surrounding Lake Ellyn Park. The commuter parking lots, including the Duane and Lorraine parking lot and the Civic Center parking garage, will remain open. Please click here to view the Village of Glen Ellyn’s interactive parking map and be sure to follow all posted signage. Limited parking will be available in the Glenbard West parking lot across from Duchon Field for Freedom Four™ 4-Mile Run participants. All cars must be removed from this lot by 10:00 a.m.

June 25, 2021 The pickleball courts at Village Green Park will be closed beginning Thursday, July 1 due to court renovations. The project was originally scheduled to begin Monday, June 28 but was delayed due to inclement weather. The courts will reopen Sunday, July 4.
