Notice is hereby given that the Glen Ellyn Park District Board of Commissioners has cancelled their Workshop Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 7, 2019. The next meeting of Board Commissioners will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at the Spring Avenue Recreation Center, 185 Spring Avenue, Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and will begin at its normal time of 7:00 p.m.

The public is invited to attend the Village of Glen Ellyn’s Arbor Day Celebration, where they will be planting three trees in honor of the 100-Year Anniversaries of the Glen Ellyn Park District and B.R. Ryall YMCA. The event will take place at 12pm on Friday, April 26 at 529 Pennsylvania Avenue. For details, call (630) 469-6756.

April 16, 2019 Football season is approaching quickly. If your son or daughter is interested in taking part in either the flag or tackle Golden Eagles programs, sign them up with the Glen Ellyn Park District before June 1 to avoid late fees. Families are invited to learn more about the program during a special event to be held beginning at 6pm on May 1st in the cafeteria of Glenbard West High School. Speakers include Glenbard West Head Coach Chad Hetlet, Glenbard South Head Coach Ryan Crissey, Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Aaron Bare, Golden Eagles Mom Brandy Larrance and Former Chicago Bear Israel Idonije.

April 9, 2019 In advance of the iconic Lake Ellyn Cardboard Regatta on June 29th, we’re hosting two Cardboard Boat Building Seminars where attendees will learn tips and tricks for creating their vessel from past champions. The seminars, which are free to attend, are available from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on April 20th or May 18th at Main Street Recreation Center (501 Hill Avenue, Glen Ellyn). On April 2, 2019, the community elected as Glen Ellyn Park District Park Board of Commissioners Paul O. Bischoff Jr., Kathy Cornell, and Ben Stortz for four-year terms. The new Board members will be seated at the Park Board meeting on May 7, 2019. Prior to that date, the election commission has 21 days to canvass votes and make results official. In anticipation of the outcome, the Glen Ellyn Park District congratulates the newly elected Board members and thanks Commissioner Wilson and Jeff West for extending the time and effort to run for office.
