Chameleon Theatre Productions is a recreational theatre program that creates quality theatre programs with young actors. Cast members are children ranging in age from 7 to 18. Age-appropriate musicals, suitable for family viewing, are performed. Participants observe the process of producing a show from start to finish, learn songs and dance routines, create props, and more.

About the Show
This season’s production, Frozen Jr., is based on the 2018 Broadway musical, and brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life onstage. A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen Jr. expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humor, Frozen Jr. is sure to thaw even the coldest heart! (Music Theatre International).
Auditions:
Offered on January 12 and January 14 at Spring Avenue Recreation Center. Registration is required and can be completed online at gepark.org/register. There is no fee to audition. Actors must be registered and present at an audition to be considered for a role. All who audition will receive a part in the musical.
January 15 at Spring Avenue Recreation Center. Only select actors will be called back for an additional audition to help cast them better. Time slots will be communicated via email by the end of the day on January 14.
Casting & Participation Fee:
All who are cast after auditions must pay a participation fee ($400 for residents, $425 for nonresidents) prior to the first rehearsal. The fee includes a t-shirt and cast party. Costumes will need to be provided by participants closer to the performance.
Rehearsals:
January 21 to April 22 at Spring Avenue Recreation Center from 5:30-8 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. Additional dance calls will take place on 2-3 Saturdays during the production process and will be communicated well in advance. A call sheet will be sent out weekly. Tech week will take place from April 27-29 from 5-8 pm at the theatre and will require all actors. A meeting for adults/caregivers and the cast will be scheduled after rehearsals begin.
Performances:
Thursday, April 30 through Sunday, May 3. Tickets will be sold at an additional cost.
