Go Golden Eagles!

Golden Eagle Football is one of the park district’s longest-running teams. Glen Ellyn’s first youth football team was founded in 1960 and the park district acquired the team in 1972. In 1974, the park district acquired The Golden Eagle football program. Bill Pope helped found the park district football program and the Bill George Football League. On October 20th, 2003, the Board passed a Resolution authorizing the naming of a football field at Newton Park in his honor.
