Poochapalooza | September 24
Join us at the Spring Avenue Dog Park on Saturday, September 24 for our 6th annual POOCHAPALOOZA event. Enjoy live dog performances, pet-related vendors (including the Fido to Go food truck), pet adoptions, raffle prizes, costume contests, pet-friendly games and more! Free to attend, you and your four-legged friend will love this day of fun and games. Time: 1-4pm. Cost: FREE.

Notice of Public Meeting
Notice is hereby given that a public meeting on the proposed Athletic Lights at Upper Newton Field at Newton Park for the Glen Ellyn Park District will take place on Thursday, September 22, 2016 and will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Spring Avenue Recreation Center, located at 185 Spring Avenue, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.

Spring Avenue Dog Park Closures
Please be advised that the Spring Avenue Dog Park will be closed on September 24 from 10am-1pm and 4pm-5pm due to setup/breakdown the Poochapalooza event.

Project Playhouse
Two customized playhouses are now being displayed near Main Street Recreation Center (on Hill Avenue just west of Main Street). The Glen Ellyn Junior Woman’s Club and the Lukins McCollum Team are collaborating with local builders to provide two life size playhouses which will be raffled off on October 1st. Proceeds will benefit the Glen Ellyn Children’s Resource Center, DuPage PADS and other local charities. Glen Ellyn Park District Strategic Planning Outcome Results in Lower Taxes
On Tuesday, July 19th, the Glen Ellyn Park District Board voted to allow the referendum debt that funded the majority of the expenses to construct the Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center to retire. As a result of the unanimous vote, residents of the Park District will realize, on average, an estimated 7.5% reduction on their 2016 tax bill (payable in 2017) and an approximate savings of 27.5% on their 2017 tax bills (payable in 2018).
