Food Drive for Glen Ellyn Food Pantry

As more of our community members begin to lose jobs and income, the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry is in urgent need of items. To make it even more convenient to donate, we’ve partnered with Glen Ellyn Food Pantry and Kiwanis Club of Central DuPage County to host a “drive thru” Food Drive at Ackerman SFC on Friday, April 3rd from 1pm-4pm. World Down Syndrome Day

Don’t forget to rock your socks on March 21st! Glen Ellyn Park District releases 2019 Annual Report

The Glen Ellyn Park District has published its Annual Report for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2019. Within the Annual Report are highlights of the Park District’s 2019 financial results and achievements. The report also contains information on natural area restoration projects, community events, partnerships, athletics and upcoming projects for 2020.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

Each day brings new information regarding the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The purpose of this communication is to let our residents know that the Glen Ellyn Park District is monitoring updates from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) relative to the current situation. For the time being, we are focused on ensuring that our staff and patrons are aware and take preventative measures to protect themselves from getting sick or stop the potential spread of illness to others. We’re hiring lifeguards, swim instructors, camp counselors, concessions staff, admissions staff, park maintenance staff, and more. Ice Conditions Update: 1/24/20

The 2019-2020 winter has not provided favorable conditions for outdoor ice skating. Unfortunately, Lake Ellyn has yet to reach the 6-inch ice thickness required for safe skating and periods of warmer temperatures (e.g. above freezing), snowfall, and rain has diminished the ice at all locations. We will continue to monitor the ice daily and hope Mother Nature provides better conditions in the next few weeks! Read More »

$400,000 OSLAD grant will help Glen Ellyn Park District improve Newton Park

The Glen Ellyn Park District was awarded a $400,000 Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant by Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The OSLAD grant will fund a significant portion of planned improvements at Newton Park including a renovated playground with an inclusive emphasis, enhanced park amenities including a seating area and receptacles, small sensory garden, accessible path to spectator area of baseball/softball field and turf field, skate park improvements, and enhanced connectivity. Registration ends Feb. 15 for spring baseball, softball

It’s registration time for all Pre-K through 8th graders interested in playing spring league baseball or softball! Registration is open between now and Saturday, February 15, with the season running April through June.

Glen Ellyn Park District to host high school 3-on-3 basketball league

High school age boys in Glen Ellyn and surrounding areas can now register to participate in the Glen Ellyn Park District’s 3-on-3 winter basketball league at Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center from January 25-March 21. Registration is available through January 20 at gepark.org/register. Read More »

Bulldogs Boys Spring Lacrosse Registration Open

Registration is open for the youth sports program Bulldogs Lacrosse through January 15, 2020. The program is open to boys in first through eighth grade, with the season running from April to early June. Bulldogs Lacrosse welcomes players of all abilities and experience to become part of the fastest growing sport in the county. Read More »

Grow the Game Tournament at Glenbard West

The inaugural Grow the Game Tournament, hosted at Glenbard West, is a unique and important event highlighting 14 girls’ basketball programs all led by female Head Coaches. The majority of games will also be officiated by female referees. The event was established with the purpose of celebrating and empowering girls and women in basketball. Learn more.
