Kindergarten Enrichment

About the Program

Kindergarten Enrichment extends the learning day for children attending half-day Kindergarten. Our goal is to provide a unique program that sparks curiosity and imagination in an encouraging environment. It’s also a perfect stepping stone to full-day Kindergarten. The enrichment class builds upon the curriculum taught in your child’s regular morning or afternoon Kindergarten class by integrating academic concepts with project-based learning. This allows them to grow academically and socially in the areas of motor skills, language arts, music, and creative arts. Classes offer a balance of structured and unstructured activities. Activity areas to choose from include:

  • Blocks
  • Quiet time
  • Dramatic play
  • Small and large motor activities
  • Music
  • Art
  • Literacy
  • Science/discovery

Kindergarten Enrichment takes place at Main Street Recreation Center, located at 501 Hill Avenue. Both morning and afternoon sessions are available. Adults can choose to enroll their child in either Tuesday/Thursday or Monday/Wednesday classes. We follow School District 41’s attendance schedule.

Lunches

Supervised lunchtime is available for participants. Please send a sack lunch if you plan to have your child eat lunch at Kindergarten Enrichment. Morning students can stay after class from 11:30 am to 12 pm for a lunch period. Afternoon students can arrive at 12 pm to eat lunch before class begins at 12:30 pm.

Busing

Busing to/from Main Street Recreation Center is not available.
