February 22, 2022 On February 9, Governor Pritzker announced plans to partially lift Illinois’ indoor mask mandate as of February 28, assuming state COVID metrics continue to decline.
As the Glen Ellyn Park District has done throughout the pandemic, we will adhere to State requirements by implementing a mask optional approach within Park District programs, events, and facilities for participants, visitors, and staff, effective Monday, February 28. Prior to that date, all participants, patrons, and employees must still wear face coverings inside Park District buildings. Read More »

January 31, 2022 Glen Ellyn Park District collected a total of 1,776 bags, or roughly 19,536 pounds, of food and toiletry donations for Glen Ellyn Food Pantry in 2021. Items were collected over the course of 13 drives offered in partnership with Kiwanis Club of Central DuPage and State Representative Terra Costa Howard. As a result of these efforts, the Glen Ellyn Park District and its partners have been named the Pantry’s largest donors through food drives in 2021. Read More »

January 21, 2022 Ice hockey players, show your skills against other teams on Saturday, January 29. The Glen Ellyn Park District is excited to announce our NEW 3v3 Pop-Up Pond Hockey Tournament on Lake Ellyn. Teams of three to five players will compete in a bracket style tournament and are guaranteed three games. Divisions are available for ages 9 and up. Fee is $100 per team with proceeds benefiting the Glen Ellyn Park District Scholarship Fund. Read More »

January 6, 2022 Due to the current surge in Covid-19 transmissions, the Glen Ellyn Park District is encouraging patrons to limit the number spectators/attendees at indoor events and programs within District facilities, including Winter Youth Basketball games and the Indoor Soccer league. Supervisors will email program specific guidance as needed to registered participants.
As a reminder, all individuals 2 years or age and over who can medically tolerate a face covering are required to wear a face covering over their nose and mouth when in an indoor public place per Executive Order 21-22.
With many District programs starting this week, be sure to allow additional time for parking and use caution when driving through District lots. In addition, please stay home if you are feeling sick or are experiencing and Covid-19 symptoms in order to reduce community spread.

January 3, 2022 Notice is hereby given that the Glen Ellyn Park District Board of Commissioners has changed the start time for their Regular Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 11, 2022. The Workshop Meeting of the Board of Commissioners for Tuesday, January 11, 2022 will begin at 6:30 p.m. instead of its regularly scheduled time of 7:00 p.m. and will take place at its regularly scheduled location of 185 Spring Avenue, Glen Ellyn, IL.

December 1, 2021 At the southwest corner of Main Street and Hill Avenue, in front of the Main Street Recreation Center, protest signs and associated vehicles have been present within the right of way over the past few weeks. IUOE Local 150 is in dispute with Hacienda Landscaping Inc. Hacienda is currently providing the construction services for improvements to Newton Park. While the dispute has nothing to do with the Glen Ellyn Park District and is not related to quality of work or performance, Local 150 has the right to protest and establish a lawful ambulatory picket. November 29, 2021 State Representative Terra Costa will be hosting a walk-up flu shot and COVID-19 booster (Pfizer, Moderna, and a limited amount of J&J) clinic with the Glen Ellyn Park District, Glen Ellyn Library, DuPage Health Coalition, and Jewel-Osco at Ackerman Sport & Fitness Center (800 St. Charles Road in Glen Ellyn) from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 11. November 1, 2021 In partnership with the Village of Glen Ellyn, the District is excited to announce the return of the Polar Plaza Downtown Pop-Up Skating Rink in late November. Free to residents and visitors to the area, the rink has a synthetic (plastic) surface which replicates a regular ice surface. Look for more information, including the opening date, to be posted on our website and social media in mid-November.

October 26, 2021 Donate a toy for Toys for Tots to meet and take pictures with your favorite superheroes and princesses!
The Toys for Tots Toy Drive with Character will return to Ackerman SFC from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, December 5. Donated toys must be new and unwrapped. Characters are subject to change but our event partner, The Alliance of Legends, expects Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Ursula, Belle, Loki, Elsa, Anna, Prince Hans, Snow White, and Rapunzel to visit. In 2020, more than 500 toys were collected for area children. We hope you will help us exceed that number in 2021!
Masks are required to be worn at all times at this event. No registration required.
