As Glen Ellyn Park District awaits mother nature to cooperate in order to produce outdoor ice skating, the Wheaton Park District’s two outdoor refrigerated ice rinks are open for the season. Pre-purchased, timed tickets for all skaters are required this year (no walk-up tickets will be available). You must have your own skates. Governor Pritzker announced today that all of Illinois will enter Tier 3 resurgence mitigations beginning Friday, November 20. While anticipating increased restrictions, the District is in the process of evaluating how our programs and facilities align with the new guidelines. As always, the goal is to be both resourceful and compliant while determining how the Park District can continue to safely serve our community. Continue the tradition of getting active for a good cause by completing your 5-mile run on a course of your own choosing anytime between Nov. 23-26 and sending your best Thanksgiving-themed selfie or family picture to [email protected] by November 27. Don’t trash your pumpkins, smash them on Saturday, November 7, from 9 to 11am! Area residents are invited to bring their jack-o-lanterns (no painted pumpkins and please remove all decorations) to be smashed and composted into the soil of the Community Garden Plots at Village Green Park. All pumpkins will be weighed prior to smashing. The Pumpkin Smash is free to attend, no registration required. Learn more >

Due to the facility serving as a polling place and for the safety of our participants, the District will be cancelling or moving classes scheduled to take place at Spring Avenue Recreation Center on Tuesday, November 3rd (Election Day):
- Gymnastics: November 3rd classes are canceled.
- Dance: November 3rd classes will be held at Main Street Recreation Center.
- Spring Avenue Fitness Center: Reservations will not be accepted for the Spring Avenue Fitness Center. Members may use Ackerman SFC with photo ID at no charge.
- Get Fit: Class will not take place on November 3rd.
Classes held at Ackerman SFC and Main Street Recreation Center are not impacted and will be held as scheduled. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
