1. The 2019 season of mini golf is underway at Holes & Knolls! Come play for just $5 on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.
2. Visit Lake Ellyn Park on April 28 for a dose of nature at our Earth Day Fair, presented in partnership with SCARCE. Expect environmental groups, guided tours, kids’ activities, food trucks, live music, and more!
3.Travel Soccer Tryouts begin in early May. Take on some of the best local competition by joining our elite Lakers and Midwest FC teams.
4. Putt your way to the top in the Parent/Child Mini Golf Tournament on April 28 to win a 2019 season pass to Holes & Knolls. Entry includes 18 holes of mini golf, hot dog, chips, and a beverage after your round.
5. Grab your paddle or borrow one of ours and learn the game of Pickleball outdoors at Village Green Park. Stick around for light refreshments and Pickleball League information.
6. Both Touch-A-Truck and the Bike Rodeo are perfectly catered to your little ones! Explore all sorts of specialty vehicles and meet their drivers at Touch-A-Truck, then join us for bike safety, BMX demonstrations, and giveaways at Bike Rodeo.
7. Hit your mark by registering for our Adult Archery Clinic at Maryknoll Park. Taught by certified archery instructors, we’ll aim for targets and improve technique through exciting drills and games.
8. Don’t miss your chance to witness brief spring-blooming flowers guided by our Naturalist at Lake Ellyn Park. No registration is required for these Free Spring Wildflower Walks happening in mid-May.
9. Head to Ackerman SFC and get a great workout in with family and friends. Drop-in fees are just $5 for residents or $7 for non-residents for all of May.
10. Improve your lettering techniques with one of our adult lettering courses. Step-by-step instruction in watercolor and calligraphy skills will make your birthday cards, scrapbooking and other projects stand out!
11. Spend the afternoon fishing off the Boathouse deck and piers at Lake Ellyn and Lake Foxcroft. Don’t forget that anglers ages 16 and up are required to carry a valid Illinois fishing license and fishing is catch-and-release only.
12. Visit Prairie Path Park on May 11 for the Glen Ellyn Public Library’s grand reveal of its next StoryWalk book and meet Pete the Cat.
13. Kids grades 3-8 will love playing in our Youth Dodgeball League, starting June 13. League play includes a 6-game season and post-season tournament.
14. Soak up the sun and rock an exclusive 100 Year Anniversary towel by being one of the first 100 families at Sunset Pool on opening day (May 25).
15. Watch classic family-friendly films at Movies in the Parks: Throwback Edition. The Muppet Movie plays on June 12 at Spalding Park to kick off this retro summer series.

25. Bring your pup or old-timer to run and play with other furry friends at the Spring Avenue Dog Park this spring. Dog park permits are issued at the Spring Avenue Recreation Center.
