Park District Offers Native Trees, Shrubs For Sale

Autumn is the best time to plant trees and shrubs, according to Renae Frigo, Naturalist and environmental expert with the Glen Ellyn Park District. “Late September and through October is generally a wetter time of the year,” she explained. “Cooler temperatures and the water helps trees and shrubs to establish a healthy root system before going dormant for the winter, and it’s early enough to avoid any chance of frost.” Read More »

Kindergarten Enrichment Class Enhances Student Learning

Ackerman Park Entrance Drive Update

Please be advised the construction company is scheduled to pour concrete for the sidewalk along the Ackerman SFC/Parkview Church entrance drive on Tuesday, August 7 (weather dependent). Vehicles will be able to pass by during the process and the entrance drive will remain open. Please use caution when passing.

Please remember to remove your valuables, take your keys, and lock your car when visiting our parks and facilities. A vehicle with unlocked doors or valuables in view is an easy target for theft. Thank you!

Spring Avenue Dog Park Annual Maintenance Closure

The Spring Avenue Dog Park will be closed on Wednesday, July 25th between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. for annual maintenance. The rain date for the cleanup day, if needed, will be Tuesday, July 31st from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We ask that you please remain out of the Park during those times as the fence gates will be open and equipment and personnel will be working in the Park during those times.

Glen Ellyn Park District Autumn Registration Starts July 29 for Residents
