Park District Board Election Results: 04/05/17

On April 4th, 2017, the community elected as Glen Ellyn Park District Park Board of Commissioners Julia Nephew, Rob Weber, Michael Ward and Alex Durham for four-year terms and Ben Stortz for the two-year office. The new Board members will be seated at the Park Board meeting on May 2, 2017. Prior to that date, the election commission has 21 days to canvass votes and make results official. In anticipation of the outcome, the Glen Ellyn Park District congratulates the newly elected Board members and thank all candidates who expended time and effort to run for office.

Charity to Recycle Lake Ellyn Playground Equipment

April 3, 2017 — Lake Ellyn Park is getting brand-new playground equipment. And the equipment that’s been in the park since it was installed in 1991 is going to a new home.

The playground replacement program is part of Phase III of the Lake Ellyn Park improvement project. Work began today, April 3, 2017, on the playground upgrade. Read More »

On Your Mark, Get Set, Hunt For Eggs! 03/23/17

Maryknoll Park will be chock full of plastic eggs Friday, April 14 when the Glen Ellyn Park District presents its annual Eggs-trodinary Egg Hunt.

Children age 6 and younger will scour the grounds for the colorful eggs stuffed with candy and prizes. Special eggs will be redeemable for prize baskets. Registered children should come prepared with their own baskets to collect eggs. There are two egg hunt times scheduled. The 11am hunt is full but a few spots remain open for the 9:30am hunt.

The Park District is the seventh municipal entity to endorse DuPage Monarch Project’s goal of expanding and improving habitat for a butterfly that in recent years has experienced an alarming and precipitous decline in population.
