April 5, 2017 On April 4th, 2017, the community elected as Glen Ellyn Park District Park Board of Commissioners Julia Nephew, Rob Weber, Michael Ward and Alex Durham for four-year terms and Ben Stortz for the two-year office. The new Board members will be seated at the Park Board meeting on May 2, 2017. Prior to that date, the election commission has 21 days to canvass votes and make results official. In anticipation of the outcome, the Glen Ellyn Park District congratulates the newly elected Board members and thank all candidates who expended time and effort to run for office.

April 3, 2017 April 3, 2017 — Lake Ellyn Park is getting brand-new playground equipment. And the equipment that’s been in the park since it was installed in 1991 is going to a new home.

March 23, 2017 Maryknoll Park will be chock full of plastic eggs Friday, April 14 when the Glen Ellyn Park District presents its annual Eggs-trodinary Egg Hunt.
Children age 6 and younger will scour the grounds for the colorful eggs stuffed with candy and prizes. Special eggs will be redeemable for prize baskets. Registered children should come prepared with their own baskets to collect eggs. There are two egg hunt times scheduled. The 11am hunt is full but a few spots remain open for the 9:30am hunt.

January 16, 2017 The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) grant awarded to the Glen Ellyn Park District in October 2014 to provide partial funding to convert and repair the Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center parking lot continues to be withheld by the State of Illinois. January 4, 2017 As Glen Ellyn Park District awaits mother nature to cooperate in order to produce outdoor ice skating, the Wheaton Park District has just opened two outdoor refrigerated ice rinks in close proximity to Mariano’s Grocery Store in Wheaton. Skating is free to both residents and non-residents. You must have your own skates. December 1, 2016 Send your kids to come play over the winter break with camps at the Glen Ellyn Park District. Little ones (ages 4-6) can choose from soccer, basketball, floor hockey, gymnastics or the multi-sport camp. No two days are the same! Older kids (ages 7-12) can have fun and improve their skills with camps including: basketball shooting camp, dodgeball camp, tumbling camp, volleyball camp and more.
